MS, LPCC-S
My name is Brad Wimsatt, MS, LPCC-S. I was born and raised in Owensboro and graduated from Owensboro Catholic High School in 2002. I went on to earn a BA in Psychology with a minor in Spanish from the University of Louisville in 2006.
After returning home, I worked with local non-profit agencies, including River Valley Behavioral Health and Audubon Area Community Services, where I discovered my passion for helping individuals and families. I later earned my Master’s in Mental Health Counseling from Capella University in 2015 and returned to River Valley Hospital as a licensed therapist in 2017.
At River Valley, I refined my skills working with children in crisis and earned certifications in TF-CBT, Choice Theory/Reality Therapy, and DBT. I am confident in my ability to support individuals through even the most challenging situations, and I am especially experienced in working with children and families who have experienced complex trauma.
I am deeply family-oriented and committed to serving my community. My wife and I were high school sweethearts, were married shortly after graduating and are blessed with 13 wonderful children. Since moving back to Owensboro in 2007, I’ve served local youth as a coach, mentor, and church youth group leader—and I look forward to continuing to make a positive impact on the families I work with.
